Jason is now president and CEO, with more than 25
years of Nortrux experience under his belt. Looking to the
future, he hopes to see his legacy continue with one or both
of his teenage boys joining the business when they complete
their education.
Jason’s VPs and his family have supported him at every
step – through good economies and bad, even through
a pandemic.
“With more than 30 years under our company’s history,
I thought we’d seen it all. But 2020 was like no other,” said
Jason. “That said, we were fortunate to be considered an
essential service, and we did everything we could to keep
our staff safe and employed. We very quickly allowed as
many people as possible to work remotely, while maintaining
a frontline skeleton crew to keep the trucks maintained
and rolling.”
Hopeful for 2021
Like many companies in Alberta, the past year was difficult
for Nortrux, but Jason remains cautiously optimistic that a
post-COVID economy will see a rebound.
“People just want to get back to work and on the road,”
said Jason. “Parts and service picked up this winter and
have remained busy ever since. We’ve been dedicated to
maintaining great relationships with our customers and
stakeholders. Because of that, we are hopeful that things
will continue to pick up.”
Membership with ARHCA
A valued ARHCA member, Nortrux has maintained its commitment
to the association because Jason sees the value of
joining forces with other industry companies.
“We’ve really enjoyed sponsoring golf tournaments and
helping to bring industry folks together,” said Jason. “But it’s
more than that. ARHCA’s advocacy is also important because
things like stable funding trickles down to suppliers like us.
When contractors have work, our Mack trucks have work,
we have work.” n
ARHCA is celebrating three years of partnership with Nortrux
and looks forward to many more.
