Stamps and Elks go head-to-head for a good cause
After successful fundraisers in 2018, The Calgary
Stampeders and Edmonton Elks will be selling
mulligans throughout the 2021 ARHCA golf season
with all proceeds going to Kids Up Front.
The past year has been rough on a lot of people, companies,
sports teams and – of course – charitable organizations.
But things are starting to look up, and ARHCA can’t wait to
safely welcome its members to the course!
With the 2021 golf season about to be in full swing,
ARHCA has once again partnered with the Stampeders and
the Edmonton Elks to raise money for kids in need. Things
kick off with ARHCA’s first golf tournament at Sorroco
in June and will wrap with the August tournament in
Grande Prairie.
At every ARHCA golf event, the Stamps and the Elks will
be competing to raise funds for Kids Up Front by offering
tournament golfers three mulligans for $20.
Here is your chance to show your support for your favourite
Alberta CFL team, and at the same time be a big financial
help towards the great work that Kids Up Front does in
our communities.
“We’ve been working with Kids Up Front for years,” said
Alex Snell, senior manager, Business Operations with the
Calgary Stampeders Football Club. “Just think about the
trickle-down effects of how COVID has impacted us all, and
it sure has impacted kids who would normally never have
had the chance to go to a sporting event. Our dedicated,
amazing fans are excited to get back in the stands. Imagine
how that effect is multiplied for kids who haven’t ever been
to a game?”
“We’ve always been really proud to work with Kids Up
Front,” said Scott Murray, vice president, Ticket Sales and
Service with the Edmonton football team. “Getting to partner
with the ARHCA to support our communities and give kids
experiences they’ve never had is such a rewarding venture.
This past year has been tough for our football community,
but the support our fans have shown us is unparalleled, and
we appreciate the opportunity to give back.”
For those who don’t know much about Kids Up Front, the
organization provides deserving children and youth in the
Edmonton and Calgary areas with access to enriching experiences
that allow kids to just be kids.
“When people think of Kids Up Front, they think about
tickets to events, which is of course a big part of what we
do. Though COVID meant putting a pause on live events,
Kids Up Front still had to fill a need. We pivoted to organizing
in-home, COVID-safe workshops and online events. Kids
still need our support, as we still need yours,” said Javier
Salazar, the CEO of Kids Up Front Edmonton. “That said, we
