A R H C A R I S I N G S TARS PROGRAM
Ryan Meier
Field Engineer, Ledcor
From the company:
“Ryan is an extremely talented engineer. He stepped onto our
project and immediately started contributing. Through his
dedication, he has made a lasting impact on his supervisors
and with the field staff. He was assigned to be the field engineer
for a unique bridge design already underway on the Southwest
Calgary Ring Road. By studying the drawings and talking with
the crew, he brought himself up to speed quickly and started
making suggestions and improvements to processes. He is hardworking,
willing to put in long hours to ensure the work is done
correctly and goes above and beyond his work responsibilities.
His grasp of difficult concepts allows others to put their faith
in him, which he has paid back immensely. Every time more
responsibility is given to Ryan, he succeeds in delivering a quality
product. Ryan makes the lives of other people easier; he is
organized, manages his time well and is a great team member.”
Trevor Petty
Earthworks Superintendent, EllisDon Construction
Services Inc.
From the company:
“Trevor recently joined EllisDon as an earthworks superintendent
in our expanding Civil Division. Trevor is currently
working on our West Calgary Ring Road project, the largest
civil project our Calgary area team has seen to date. He was an
immediate fit and asset for EllisDon. His background in construction
started from an early age, including work in the mining
and oil and gas sectors on large-scale, complex projects. He
has continuously pushed his personal boundaries, recognizing
and improving on his shortcomings through continued education
and training in order to position himself for ongoing success
in the industry. From day one with EllisDon, Trevor was a
leader, presented an infectious ambition and positive attitude
that couldn’t help but motivate everyone around him. He sees
challenges as opportunities for growth and innovation and
displays a remarkable persistence to find a solution best suited
for the project and situation at hand. In just a short time with
EllisDon, he has become the ‘go-to’ guy for anything ‘dirt’ related,
but also the guy for those long days that call for a beer after
work. To say we are happy to have Trevor as part of our team
would be an understatement. We look forward to seeing how
his career will continue to grow and flourish with EllisDon.”
Jordan Willis
Calgary Operations Branch Manager,
Barricades and Signs
From the company:
“Jordan understands the value of relationships and that they can
only be strengthened through real conversations. He is one of
the first to admit his own faults or mistakes so he can grow from
them, and also takes any feedback as constructive. He keeps the
mood light in the office but still manages to keep people motivated.
He actively solves problems, comes up with solutions for
his branch and is great at providing insight and suggestions that
make a difference company-wide. He continually demonstrates
the character a true leader needs. Anyone who has the opportunity
to work with and perhaps for Jordan will see what I see
in him.”
Andrew Young
Branch Manager, ShearForce Equipment & Work
Truck West
From the company:
“Andrew joined ShearForce Equipment and Work Truck
West three years ago as the sole territory manager in
Alberta. His tenacity, persistence and commitment to
doing right for his customers and coworkers has resulted
in Andrew establishing himself as a trusted and reliable
solutions provider and proponent and supporter of the
industries we serve. He has come a long way since working
from the home office; as we opened the doors to our
brand-new sales and service center in Airdrie on July 2 this
year, his role was elevated to branch manager. Overseeing
not only business development, sales and rentals across the
province, Andrew has truly stepped up into his new role
by capably and confidently handling the setup at the new
branch. He provides solid and supportive leadership for the
team in the Airdrie office and with the addition of our new
Nisku branch picking up where Terrafirma Equipment left
off in the Edmonton area this summer, all signs indicate
that Andrew is going to make a significant impact when
it comes to meeting needs for hydraulic attachments
and rental equipment. At 38 years young, a doting dad,
supportive partner, honest gear head, boat captain and
racing enthusiast, Andrew represents the future of our
industry’s community and leadership, and our team could
not be prouder of what he has already accomplished and
what we know is still on the road ahead.” n
