Alec Stewart
Project Manager, M.A.P. Water and Sewer
Services Ltd.
From the company:
“Alec joined the team in summer 2012 as a junior
project coordinator. From day one, the more
responsibility we offered, the faster he excelled.
The more complicated projects just highlighted his
strengths, attributes and organizational skills as he
quickly advanced to a project manager position. Alec
carries a positive attitude regardless of the situation,
is never overwhelmed with a heavy workload and
represents our company (and the industry) extremely
well. He is currently a member representative for the
ARHCA Edmonton Region Committee.”
Amanda Vavrek
Junior Project Manager, Carmacks Enterprises Ltd.
From the company:
“Amanda has the ability to integrate cutting-edge
technologies with our industry’s processes and
methods. These technologies include the newest
survey equipment and software, RPAS surveys and
quantification software, estimating software and
tracking technologies. Simply put, there is nothing
new and/or innovative that she cannot master in
short order. I like to say young minds bring fresh
ideas, and Amanda brings all of that to the table.”

Joel Wagner
Reclamation Manager, Vitae Environmental
Construction Ltd.
From the company:
“Joel is an innovative and dedicated member of our
senior management team who holds the position of
reclamation manager. He has held this position for
under a year and has helped lead Vitae to its most
successful year yet.
On a project he managed this year, he developed
new and innovative methods for re-establishing soil
profiles on remote sites using soil amendments and
fertilizers. This technique was used on a power line
ROW in Banff National Park that otherwise would
have been very difficult and costly to reclaim. The
development of his technique led to cost savings
for the client, while also creating more work for
our company.”
Dale Garner
Projects Coordinator, Noyen Construction Ltd.
From the company:
“Dale graduated from civil tech and achieved the
Dean’s Honour Roll. He is now upgrading his
knowledge in numerous other civil-related courses
as a bachelor of technology student – achieving the
Dean’s Honour Roll here, too. In our opinion, Dale is
the ‘wave of the future’ with regards to all he can do
with electronic data, whether it be for survey layout,
quantity calculations, electronic management of bid
proposals, electronic management of documents and
document control. He is a very enthusiastic young
man who takes every opportunity given to him to
learn more about the earthmoving business and
all the ‘behind the scenes’ processes needed to be
successful in this business. We at Noyen are quite
honoured to have him get this award. We are proud
to know him and even prouder to work with him.”
