The success of Prospect, which has
130 employees based in eight loca-tions
in the province including Calgary
and Edmonton, speaks for itself with
the Forces@WORK program having the
highest placement rates of all Prospect
programs. Since 2011, the program
has assisted more than 1,300 clients
and boasts a placement rate of about
73 per cent.
Blackburn attributes a big part of the
program’s success to the large network
of business partners Prospect has been
able to build over the years. That
group includes nearly 700 employers,
including many in the construction
sector, and 32 industry associations.
Slightly more than 60 per cent of the
participating businesses having a multi-regional
presence in the province.
“Because we have that big employer
network…our program is different than
most other employment programs that
help veterans,” he said. “We’re con-stantly
reaching out to those employers
and asking them to help us with this
person or that person.”
