Making sure safety is
always top-of-mind
Another important part of any safety
campaign is making sure it lasts.
Instead of celebrating safety for a
week and then moving on with business
as usual, Standard General continues
to make sure the icons are visible
everywhere. From fall protection
icons stuck to hard hats, to the zeroenergy
isolation icon on electrical
panels and energy sources requiring
lock-out tag-out, these quick visual
reminders are seen every single day
of the year – a constant reminder
that nothing is more important
than safety.
“Safety is at the core of everything
we do, but there’s always room for
improvement. It’s important for a
commitment to safety to be part of
our culture, and not something we
pay lip-service to,” said Cooper. “I
think this campaign and the lasting
effects it has had on everyone here
is a testament to that. And it never
hurts to have some fun while you’re
at it.” n
