their road infrastructure delivery systems.
After much research, discussion and debate, the panel will
provide ARHCA with recommendations for improving the
future of Alberta’s transportation system. This work will form
the basis of our industry’s engagement with the future govern-ment
and guide development of transportation policies.
This investment, along with the continued advocacy from
our members, has been incredibly timely. Our transporta-tion
system policies are desperately in need of fundamental
change and ARHCA wants swift action.
Alberta deserves a strategic plan that effectively conveys
a long-term vision for an integrated transportation system
that facilitates the safe and efficient movement of vehicles,
products and people.
We require a carefully considered provincial transporta-tion
strategy that anticipates and accounts for the pressures
of economic and population growth, social and environmen-tal
impacts, and technological advances on our transporta-tion
network. This proactive and progressive framework
must ensure Alberta has the essential roads and highways,
utilities and facilities to support our quality of life and secure
our province’s economic prosperity now and into future.
While it has been a tremendous undertaking to get our
policy advocacy campaign to this point, our association still
has a lot of work ahead. However, as ARHCA has proven
over the last seven decades, our members have never been
afraid to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
